start-up

An innovative start-up in the baby care sector aimed to work in a data-driven way in order to gain valuable insights and enable strategic growth. They engaged our support to help realise this ambition.

Using our Building Blocks model, we clearly outlined the steps we would take to guide them towards fully data-driven operations.

Approach

We began with joint sessions to clarify why the organisation wanted to work data-driven and what objectives they aimed to achieve. It quickly became clear that there was a need for insights into sales performance, customer retention, and the online check-out funnel. These insights would support strategic decision-making and ongoing optimisation.

Next, we mapped out the ideal structure for their data infrastructure. Shortly afterwards, one of our data analysts began developing a proof-of-concept dashboard. Within a week, the demo was completed, offering a clear initial glimpse of the type of insights a dashboard could provide.

Visual depicting a proof of concept dashboard, appearing as five topics you woud have insight to: revenue, products, retention, conversion and web analytics.

The positive reception of the proof dashboard formed the basis to move forward quickly. We began building the final dashboard: identifying and collecting relevant data from various sources, establishing relationships within a structured data model, and loading everything into the Power BI visualisation tool.

Result

With the dashboard in place, the organisation now has visibility into key metrics such as monthly revenue, products sold, and repeat purchases, including the time between them. They also have a detailed check-out funnel that shows how many users go through the online purchase process and what percentage converts. In addition, the dashboard highlights where users drop off in the process. The dashboard is interactive and updated daily with the latest data.

As a long-term data partner, we continue to optimise the Power BI dashboard and provide support in other areas where data-driven insights can add value.
