Data knowledge and skills for society

Mindmap drawn by children.

At Digital Power, we’re aware of the many opportunities data has to offer. We enjoy working together with a variety of clients to help them transition from data to action. But our ambition doesn’t end there. As the data partner, we want to make our data knowledge and skills accessible to everyone – including society and civil society organisations. That’s why, in 2021, we founded a foundation: the Digital Power Datahub.

Whilst Digital Power remains your data partner, our foundation strives to be your Datahub; a connector between civil society, for-profit organisations and the data industry. Digital Power invests in the Datahub foundation so that our data specialists can contribute their knowledge and skills to social projects, free of charge.

What exactly does the Datahub do?

Our activities can be divided into two categories: data awareness and data for good.

Data awareness

If you ask us, data awareness is an essential part of digital literacy. What does that mean? We believe that a fundamental understanding of what data is, what opportunities and risks it introduces and how you can (re)gain control over (your) data according to your own values belongs to that skillset. That is why we provide data awareness training to a variety of audiences: from primary school students to senior citizens and non-profit organisations. That’s how we contribute to a data aware society.

Data for good

As a foundation, we offer the commercial services of Digital Power, free of charge for projects with a social purpose. By doing so, we ensure that our data knowledge and expertise is accessible to initiatives that contribute to the development of society. In other words: this is how data works for good!

Making impact measurable

They are challenged to design solutions for a better world, for example to combat climate change. From the Datahub, we helped Designathon Works fine-tune the impact measurements free of charge. We also made a first move towards automating data collection, analysis and visualisation.
