A data-literate organisation is aware of what data is, its opportunities and risks, and how to collect, store, analyse, and present data in a way that aligns with its organisational values. To assist social organisations in becoming more data-savvy, we offer a range of workshops.

Workshop: values-driven approach to working with data

Whether your organisation advocates for inclusivity, safety, or convenience, in a data-literate organisation, these values also shape how data is collected, stored, analysed, and shared.

How do you make that transition? In other words, how do you become a data-literate organisation? This workshop tackles these questions. We discuss what data is, its opportunities and risks, and then explore how you can shape your data practices based on your values.

The end result? An overview of data handling guidelines aligned with your values.

A practical example of this workshop

During the webinar "How to Become a Data-Literate Organisation?" that we organised in late 2022 for members of Goede Doelen Nederland, we applied this approach to the values of the Special Social Club. The Special Social Club aims to lower the barriers in today's society so that disabilities do not limit individuals.

The Special Social Club provides a social platform where fundamental rights such as dancing, social interactions, dating, sports, and employment are accessible to everyone. They organize inclusive and accessible activities for young adults and adults with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

The four core values of the Special Social Club are enjoyment, trust, connection, and inclusion. Curious to see how we translated these values into data handling rules?

Workshop: A data strategy for social impact

Many social organisations use a Theory of Change to make their impact visible but struggle with measuring actual impact.

In an ideal world, all goals are SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely). However, the context in which social organisations operate is complex: social impact is difficult to grasp and influenced by many factors. How do we bridge this gap?

In our workshop series, we work with your team to develop a measurement plan for your mission. We explore what data is and what data is available in your organisation, what social impact is, and what impact goals you have. We then examine how we can bring these two aspects together.

The end result? A measurement plan for your impact goals. Read here the key takeaways from the first workshop in this series.
