As a data consultant your gross monthly salary is anywhere between € 2800 and € 6800. The initial gross monthly salary of junior data consultants is anywhere between € 2800 and € 3100. The salary and growth opportunities differ per type of data consultant. We are happy to explain in this article.

Five different types of data consultants work at Digital Power: Data Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Technical Web Analysts and Customer Experience Specialists. Together they help clients work data-driven (or data-informed), each from their own angle. We strongly believe that everyone makes a valuable contribution, regardless of their specialisation or seniority.

What is the initial salary of a data consultant?

As briefly mentioned in the intro: a junior data consultant with be paid a gross monthly salary of € 2800 to € 3100. • Data Analyst: € 2800
  • Customer Experience Specialist: € 2800
  • Technical Web Analyst: € 2800
  • Data Scientist: € 2800

What growth opportunities are there in terms of salary for data consultants?

At Digital Power we have housed the salaries of all data consultants in a salary house. If you develop well, your salary will increase every year. Because we only hire people who never stop developing, in practice almost everyone actually takes that annual step. Whether your salary will increase does not depend on the assessment of your manager.

You make an annual step in your salary in our salary house. These steps go from € 100 to € 350 gross per month.

Why does a Data Engineer earn more than a Data Analyst?

Although our data professionals all offer valuable knowledge and expertise, the salaries differ between these two data consultants. This is simply due to supply and demand: good Data Engineers are much needed but hard to find. Data Analysts, however, are easy to find. So the minor difference in salary makes perfect sense.

I am approached by Recruiters who say I can earn a lot more as a data consultant elsewhere. How is that possible?

What we consider most important is your development: you receive an unlimited training budget for external training, courses and (international) events, an extensive internal range of hard and soft skills training, experienced data consultants as sparring partner, knowledge sharing via weekly meet-ups and a peer group to discuss challenges.

In addition, you naturally want a very nice job at an inspiring organisation and you want to carry out challenging assignments for interesting customers. According to our new colleagues, the expectation we create corresponds perfectly with reality!

Our approach is slightly different. For example, you don't have to search for an assignment yourself, we will do that for – and in consultation with – you. You also don't have to do so many assignments at the same time, but instead you can focus on one or two customers.

And if you are done learning, we will find you a new challenge! If this may sound too ambitious, don't worry. Our entire team helps each other, without elbowing. We just enjoy sharing knowledge and learning from each other!

Working as a data consultant: do you go for the highest salary or the best job?

You might be able to earn more per month elsewhere. The question is what is important to you at this stage of your career. Is it mainly about money, or do you also think about your development and a healthy work-private life balance?
