One of our clients in the energy sector recently modernised its metering data landscape. New sensors started collecting data every fifteen minutes while also providing additional measurements, including information on heat supply and return flows.

This richer dataset made it possible to understand the behaviour of the heating network far more effectively. More frequent measurements combined with additional context revealed patterns, anomalies and efficiency losses that had previously been difficult—or even impossible—to identify.

The real value, however, lay not only in the sensors themselves, but in combining them with a modern, scalable data warehouse. This enabled data to be processed automatically in near real time, integrated with other data sources, and made available for analysis and dashboards.
