Why did you want to do a traineeship?

Bob explains that he previously worked in IT and was eager to switch to a new technical playing field: "I wanted to dive into the code a bit more and find out what's going on in the background. That brought me to Digital Power and this traineeship."

How did you end up at Digital Power?

Bob indicates that he came to Digital Power through a recruitment website. "I applied for a position as a junior Data Analyst. During the job interviews, we found out together that a role as a Technical Web Analyst suited my ambitions better. This was a very instructive and valuable moment for me."

Why Digital Power?

Bob liked the application process: "I thought it was very well organised. In no time, I had a first interview, a second interview, feedback on the interviews and a third interview to determine the next steps. This was within a time frame of two weeks. Additionally, the culture at Digital Power appealed to him: "Everyone likes to think along, is involved, and you can always call on colleagues with your questions."

What does the traineeship look like?

The first six weeks of the traineeship consist of attending courses and training. Bob indicates that this is very instructive but also intensive: "It sounds like a straightforward task, but once you get busy, it costs you a lot of time. You come across many new things; Javascript, CSS, HTML, topics that are relatively new to me."

After these six weeks, the idea is to go on assignment. It went slightly differently in Bob's case: "In the first six weeks, they gradually linked me to a customer. After those six weeks, it was clear that I could stay with this client and that another client also had an assignment. I am currently working on an assignment with colleagues at both organisations. After three months I will start with my own assignment."

How did it feel for you to start carrying out an assignment for a customer after six weeks?

Bob thinks the great thing about Digital Power is that colleagues are there for each other. In the first three months, he is mentored by a senior colleague, and he can always contact this colleague with questions. "I don't have to be afraid to make mistakes. Making mistakes is a good thing. You can discuss the mistakes with your colleagues, and you learn from this," says Bob.

And what if you can't figure something out after those three months?

Bob knows he can still ask his colleagues questions after these three months: "Everyone is willing to help you, and you can still "harass" them with all your questions. " Bob also indicates that the weekly meet-ups are very valuable and instructive: "A meet-up is held every Friday for every field where you can gain knowledge and ask your colleagues questions. Bob adds that he now mainly receives knowledge but that he hopes to be able to present great developments to colleagues in the future.

What exactly are you currently doing for the customer?

Bob is currently mainly processing and implementing client requests: "This ranges from implementing a tag via Google Tag Manager to a pixel for Facebook or Pinterest."

Traineeships are often for a specific period. What has Digital Power promised you?

When you are following the traineeship, you will receive an annual contract. After you have successfully completed the traineeship, you will immediately receive a contract for an indefinite period. Bob adds: "The great thing about Digital Power is that you are not limited to the position for which you applied. If I eventually find out that another field suits me better, they are very flexible about it and always see possibilities."

How will you develop in the near future?

"For now, it's mainly about getting to know the customer and getting started with Google Tag Manager. In addition, I find Javascript super interesting". Bob also wants to attend the 'How do I become a better consultant?' course. Digital Power is not only about the hard skills, but also soft skills!
